Climate Studies Faculty Brown Bag Session

November 1, 2024
12:00pm - 1:30pm
Rankin Science West 158

Dear Faculty Colleagues who teach climate focused/related courses,

We’re excited to announce the recent establishment of a Climate Studies Course Attribute (CLI), and we invite you to this working session focused on preparing an application to have your course considered for the attribute*.

Bring your laptop so you can start working on your CLI attribute application during the session. Also bring your lunch and water bottle; we’ll provide cookies.

A second focus of this session is to have some group discussion of the challenges of post-disaster teaching (e.g., providing opportunities for students to process, responding to students’ climate anxiety). We want to offer an opportunity for climate studies faculty to share and learn from one another.

*Having the CLI attribute attached to your course will:

  • make it easier for students interested in learning about climate change to find your course
  • allow your course to count in the forthcoming interdisciplinary Climate Studies minor
  • potentially increase enrollment in your course
  • help your department participate in the QEP
