Climate Connection Meetings

Do you ever experience difficult or uncomfortable emotions in response to what is happening to our planet? Research shows that climate worry among youth is pervasive and often disruptive, though most people feel alone in their emotions. Talking about difficult feelings in groups can make them easier to bear.

Climate Connection meetings provide an opportunity for students to share and process their climate emotions in community with others who are concerned about the planet. This is NOT a therapy group; it is an informal, safe and supportive gathering for sharing what it’s like to be a human facing the enormous and complex challenges of climate change.

We plan to hold monthly Climate Connection events during the semester, each facilitated by a different pair of App State faculty and staff members. We welcome participants to return each month!
